security

operations

101 North Wacker Security Officers are on duty 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To contact building security, call (312) 525-8110.

The contracted 101 North Wacker security company is responsible for security in the lobbies, dock area and all common areas within the building. Individual tenants of the building are each responsible for the security of their respective areas and may call upon the Building Security to assist them at any time. Please note that tenants occupying a full floor are responsible for the security of all areas of their respective floor.

Building Security Officers are not armed and are only intended to serve as a deterrent to crime in the building. Actual enforcement of local laws is the role of the Chicago Police who should be contacted along with the Office of the Building if a crime or situation requiring the use of force occurs.

Twenty-Four Hour Access:
101 North Wacker is open twenty-four hours a day for your convenience. Access to the building after hours is provided at the Wacker Drive entrance.

All persons requiring building access beyond the Lobby Level after hours will require a building photo access ID card. Visitors who do not have an access ID card will need to be registered by the tenant contact with the Office of the Building. The Office of the Building will then inform Security via the after hours building activity calendar.

Key Cards:
Key cards can be obtained by entering an online work order via https://connect.buildingengines.com. New access cards are made on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. by the Security Manager. The Security Manager will visit the tenant suite, take the photo and return that same day with an activated access card. Replacement cards will be delivered directly to your suite by the Security Manager. All new and replacement cards requested will be at a cost of $10.00 per card.

Property Pass:
As part of our security program, it is required that a property pass accompany any items not readily identifiable as personal property being removed from the building at any time. All passes must be submitted to a Building Security Officer on duty when exiting the building.

A valid property pass is preferably typed and must provide the following information:
  1. Current date.
  2. Tenant name, suite number, and telephone number.
  3. Identity of person authorized to remove the items listed.
  4. List specifying items authorized for removal.
  5. Signature of Facilities Representative.

Tenant/Service Persons Access:
Building Security Officers do not have keys to individual tenant spaces and are strictly forbidden to allow access to those spaces. If you have lost your key or an unauthorized individual requests entry into your space, the tenant representative will be contacted to request permission to provide such access.

Security is Everyone's Responsibility:
Valuables should be stored in a safe place and doors locked after hours (i.e. laptops, purses, wallets, etc.). The Office of the Building or Building Security should be contacted if any strangers behaving in a suspicious manner are noticed in the office areas. Only with tenant cooperation can a secure building be maintained.
